Unlock The Potential – Try Something New
“The foundation of successful work comes from realising your own strengths and weaknesses”, says Thom Singer. He believes that potential doesn’t always equal results, so he teaches how to identify road-blocks and how to map a path to a more efficient performance.
Thom is an adventurer, an avid Podcaster, is known as a ‘Conference Catalyst’ and focusses a lot of attention on the ‘Paradox of Potential’. We chat with him in this Podcast from his home base in Boston, Texas, about his attraction to Stand-up Comedy.
Stand-up Comedy is, perhaps, the hardest use of the spoken word – success or failure of your presentation is revealed within moments. Mastering the art of ‘speech humour’ can be a huge challenge.
Just as being an MC is different to being a Speaker – they require different skills sets – the move to bring ‘speech humour’ into your repertoire is another great stretch. And this is the key to the message Thom shares with us today – try new things.
He firmly believes that potential isn’t static – we need to keep trying different things that will help to build the framework of our success in life.
Please don’t forget to head over to our Facebook group and let us know of your thoughts and ideas on ways MCs and Speakers might try new things.
