Creating a blended workforce
Tathra Street is best described as being a global citizen – a powerful, table-flipping conduit to a blended workforce. So it is no surprise to learn in our Podcast today that her purpose in life is to change the face of leadership.
In Tathra’s view, leadership in general is lacking in two particular areas – the recognition that a decision’s impact may be different to its intent, and, the rationale that power should sit exclusively at the top of the hierarchy. This is the great base for our very interesting conversation.
Tathra’s call-out is that everyone, working as part of the team, should be able to step up and take responsibility in creating a global difference. That is, those in a position of authority who are making decisions should value different opinions from within their group and custom ideas to generate a change model rather than simply impose something of their choosing … and conversely, subordinates should be in a position to have their voices heard and not just follow the lead they are given if they can see an alternative way.
As an appealing sideline to this conversation we hear that because she believes that a lot more can be done to support entrepreneurial mindsets, Tathra is part of a group that has set up The Blend Mastermind Group. Members of the group – many of them on the same journey and hence with a common framework – get honest feedback from a peer group and are able to capture different perspectives on their work.
